3 Oyo monarchs die in auto crash

It was black Friday, in Oyo State, as three traditional rulers in the Oriire Local Government Area of Ogbomoso lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident at Arinkinkin area.

It was gathered that the monarchs met their untimely deaths while going to the funeral party of the mother of a brother to a traditional ruler, Oloolo of Oolo, Oba Oyebunmi Ajayi.

The deceased Obas were Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula, and Alayetoro of Ayetoro, all from the Oriire council. Their names could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

They were said to be on their way to the party when the accident occurred when their vehicle rammed into an oncoming truck.

The Olodogbo was confirmed to have died on the spot but it was unclear at what point the other two passed away.

A source at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso confirmed the incident to reporters saying their bodies were deposited in the hospital’s morgue.

It was also revealed that the fourth victim who sustained injuries is being attended to in the hospital “but he doesn’t look like an Oba,” the source said.
