3 feared dead in tollgate truck accident

Three passers-by were feared dead in an accident that occurred at the Ota , Ogun State end of the Tollgate.

The accident which involved two articulated vehicles happened around 12. 25pm Saturday, May 24 2020.

One of the trucks coming from Ota toward Lagos State was believed to have lost control perhaps due to brake failure.

As a result of that, it veered off its track, crossed to the other lane and rammed into another stationary coming from Lagos.

The Lagos-Ogun bound stationary one was one of the several vehicles cought in the web of lockdown and could not cross the border to Ogun state.

When the dust settled, three passers-by believed to be involved in the accident were feared with one still trapped as at the time of filling this reports. Policemen and the men of the Federal Road Safety Corp were making frantic efforts to rescue the trapped victim.

The FRSC Ambulance arrived in time to evacuate the injured to the hospital.

There was no opportunity to talk to the security personnel as all of them were very frantic at saving lives while a recovery crane was seen getting set to move in for recovery operation.

A couple of other smaller vehicles were also slightly affected.
