Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is afraid of the electronic transmission of election results because of its abysmal failure in the past six years.
Governor Okowa, who stated this at a news briefing through the Commissioner for information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said those kicking against electronic transmission have plans to hijack and rig election in 2023.
He said that the transmission of results would guarantee free and fair polls in the country and guard against interception and snatching of results.
Said he, “Delta representatives in the National Assembly that voted against electronic transmission did so out of their selfish desire and not the aspiration of Deltans.
“APC is scared of electronic transmission of results because of its abysmal failure in the past six years and those kicking against electronic transmission are planning to rig the election.”
On the ongoing voters’ registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Okowa directed all the government appointees to go back to their communities and mobilise their people to participate in the registration.
