Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday, visited former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In Tinubu’s entourage were Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettima, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara Stat, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa and that of Plateau State, Mr. Simon Lalong.

It was gathered that the APC candidate and former President Jonathan were in a closed-door meeting where they spoke on issues majorly around the presidential election next year.
Speaking with reporters later, Asiwaju Tinubu said his visit to Jonathan was for consultation in his capacity a former President in the country and an elder statesman.
According to him, he believed that leading Nigeria go beyond partisan politics and seeks the support of all leading figures in Nigeria to brainstorm and the best way to get the country on a right track.
Recall that Asiwaju Tinubu had also visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in his Abeokuta residence earlier in the month as part of his ongoing consultations.
Tinubu had also visited Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in London where both men met behind closed doors.

Just before the presidential primaries of the APC, Tinubu had also engaged in consultations with traditional rulers in the South West and other leaders across the country.
A source close to the former Lagos State governor said that the APC candidate would continue to meet with leaders across the country before campaigns officially start next month.
But recall that Tinubu was instrumental to Jonathan’s loss of 2015 re-election bid.
Tinubu attributed the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the last presidential election to a commonsense revolution anchored on a rebellion against the excesses of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
