Hon. Oluwatosin Onamade popularly called OSMO ,on Saturday declared his intention to contest the Lagos State House of Assembly seat for Ikorodu Constituency 2 in the 2023 general elections.
Ikorodu Constituency 2 comprises of Ijede, Igbogbo, Imota, Gberigbe axis.
A staunch member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ikorodu, Onamade made the declaration at Ijede, saying the constituency deserves a better representative at the Assembly.

Onamade had, at the last local government election, contested for the chairmanship of the Ijede Local Council Development Area, LCDA, but lost the party’s ticket to the incumbent, Hon. Motunrayo Alogba.
While addressing his teeming supporters at the declaration, Onamade said Ikorodu constituency 2 has not witnessed development compared with other parts of Ikorodu, and promised if given the ticket of the party at the forthcoming APC’s primary in the state, and eventually wins at the general election, he will bring development to the constituency.
“I assure you that if I am elected as member of Lagos State House of Assembly to represent Ikorodu Constituency 2, I am going to be a visible, listening, discerning and active legislator. I will also contribute my quota to the growth and development of our dear mighty constituency and Lagos State. I will do this and many other great things to fulfill my part of the social contract with the people and collaborate with other arms of government to bring unquantifiable benefits to my people,” he promised.
He further said the economic situation in the constituency is appealing which has “compelled him to develop ideas and strategies that will impact positively on the lives of Ikorodu people.”
“My promise to the people of Ikorodu Constituency 2 is to provide and guarantee qualitative, passionate, visible and result oriented representation for my constituency.”
The APC apex leader in Ikorodu, Chief Sakirudeen Ajala, who was present at the event said it is the turn of Ijede to produce the next lawmaker for the constituency at the Lagos House of Assembly, adding based on rotational agreement, Imota, Igbogbo and Gberigbe have had their turns of two times representation.
He commended Onamade for his support to the party ,adding that having given to the party, the party should also give him something back. He urged the people of Ijede to support Onamade’s aspiration.
