The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State chapter, has expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their show of love, commitment and support during the just concluded general elections.
Also, the party congratulated all candidates that were elected as members of the National and State Assembly, describing their elections as a call to service.
Chairman of the party in the state, Hon. Moses Cleopas, in a statement signed by the Director, Strategic Communication, Governor’s office, Chief Nath Egba-Ologo, described the support received by the party which led to the elections of her candidates as overwhelming, and, assured the people that they would not regret their decisions.
The statement added that the people of the state with the outcome of the elections have further justified the confidence reposed in the party and by extension the Restoration Government led by the Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.
The party noted that in spite of electoral violence which marred the conduct of elections in some communities, and constituencies which resulted in the death of some party faithful and, disenfranchisement of eligible voters by some political thugs, the people of the state remained resolute as they ensured that candidates of the parties were duly elected.

The statement added, I thank the resilient and brave people of Bayelsa state for standing firm and resolute in the face of unprecedented onslaught by security men and armed thugs during the elections.
As for those families who lost their loved ones, we want to assure you that the PDP will not forget or abandon you while the stolen mandates will be retrieve legally.
It described the development as undemocratic, and, therefore, assured its members not to lose sleep over the incidence as the party is doing all in her power to legally retrieve all stolen mandates.
The statement, therefore, assured the people of the commitment of the party to their wellbeing.
It added, the party on its part will not take the people of the State for granted rather it will work even harder to deliver on its electoral promises.
