17 kidnapped victims rescued in Kebbi
Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesman for Operation HADARIN DAJI, has announced the rescue of 17 kidnapped victims and capture of operational motorcycles from terrorists.
In a statement on Friday, Ibrahim said the operation took place in Kanya village, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, following credible intelligence from members of the public.
He said: “Troops swiftly mobilised and laid ambush at the suspected routes and crossing points to be used by the terrorists at Karenbana village. Subsequently, the troops’ firepower superiority forced the terrorists to abandon the victims and escape with gunshot wounds, leading to the rescue of 17 kidnapped victims.”

The rescued victims comprised six females and 11 males.
After their rescue, they were promptly handed over to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to be reunited with their families.
According to the spokesman, General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of the Joint Task Force, lauded the troops for their prompt response.
Also commending the people for the timely information, which led to the rescue of the victims, Ibrahim enjoined them to be more alert and quickly report strange activities in the area to the security operatives.
