The senator, representing Imo North, also known as Okigwe Zone, in the National Assembly, Frank Ibezim, has expressed appreciation to his constituents and teeming supporters.
Ibezim was on Tuesday declared the undisputed senator of the zone by the Electoral Appeal Court, which dismissed the appeal of Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as Senator Ifeanyi Araraume’s attempt to take over the seat.
Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim in a statement expressed profound gratitude to the people “for keeping faith with me all through the legal battles to affirm the mandate you gave me on December 5, last year to represent you in the Senate.
“To the glory of God, our collective goals and desires have been finally sealed in the God-given victory secured at the Election Appeal Court. I hold my election as a sacred mandate and my pledge is to value and keep to its demands. By God’s grace, I will not disappoint you.”
He also assured that his victory “is the beginning of a new dawn and greater glory for Okigwe, as a new light has come to sweep away the darkness of the past.”
The senator also thanked Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, HCN, for their support and looked forward to continue working with them for the greater good of the people.

I am committed to continue to partner with him, as our great leader in this onerous duty.

“Once again let me reiterate that this victory belongs to the entire people of Okigwe and no particular person. I therefore, enjoin that we work in concert to take Okigwe to greater heights.
“With God’s help and direction, the journey may be challenging but reaching the destination of our choice for an Okigwe built on equity, progress, and development is assured. I invite you to join me as we do this.”
